Antioch is a long-established area, but it only really grew in the 1970s, when the Nashville sewer system reached the area, and supported the expansion of it to add more homes, stores and restaurants. The town is now home to a number of small apartment complexes, and because of that, it is still enjoying some of the most rapid growth in the whole of the Nashville-Davis county.
Economically, the area’s prospects are good. Antioch used to be home to the Starwood Amphitheatre, but this was demolished in 2007, and there are plans for extensive redevelopment of the site. It is unclear whether there will be a replacement for the music venue.
