A Guide to Antioch TN Housing

Antioch, TN is a thriving real estate market, and there are housing options for everyone, whether they are a single professional, a retired couple, or a busy family.

The median listing price for houses on the Antioch, TN housing market is $247,000, although houses tend to close for about 25 percent less than that. The typical price per square foot is $138, so you can get some decent houses for the money.

There are lot of schools in the area. The elementary schools are very highly rated, but the high schools tend to be viewed a little less favorably.

Antioch is a long-established area, but it only really grew in the 1970s, when the Nashville sewer system reached the area, and supported the expansion of it to add more homes, stores and restaurants. The town is now home to a number of small apartment complexes, and because of that, it is still enjoying some of the most rapid growth in the whole of the Nashville-Davis county.

Economically, the area’s prospects are good. It has become Nashville’s second biggest employment center, in part because of a new project by Community Health Systems, which would create approximately two thousand new jobs. This means that there will be a significant increase in living in and around the area of that development, which could well push up property prices in the area. The development of the old Hickory Hollow Mall, and the opening of a new community college satellite campus has also helped to grow the area, and will be adding to the interest in property.

Antioch used to be home to the Starwood Amphitheatre, but this was demolished in 2007, and there are plans for extensive redevelopment of the site. It is unclear whether there will be a replacement for the music venue.
